Vintage Air has different kits with the inside unit pretty small. Also, they have under dash units.

I am a big fan of Vintage Air but you might take a look at Old Air Products.

Vintage air. The vent is fairly easy, just "six pack" engineer the operating mechanism for opening and closing. Found room to do it on a 36 Chevy years ago, sorry, that was prior to me having a computer or digital camera. The knob ended up next to the steering column instead of being in the middle of the dash. Glove box is a little different. My 57 Ranchero box will need to be shortened abut an inch to clear.
