If you put a little imagination and effort into it you can (using hardware store items) pretty much duplicate what you had.

Nice approach 51 MERC, or they could add the restrictor fitting if they didn't want to fill and drill.

Someone here must have one of these for this guy. I'll search through my junk today to see if I have one (I'm not sure that I do). What about "Southside Obsolete" ("barnfind08" on here)? He has had just about anything I have ever needed.

I checked my stuff and the latest I have is a 48 and they use an elbow without the restrictor (the systems uses a restrictor, it's just not in that fitting).

As an alternative, NAPA sells a restrictor fitting, that can be used with a conventional Tee.

Gave a thought of using that fitting but didn't want to spend the extra 15 bucks for the two extra fittings.
Here is that option.
Or just add the NAPA fitting to the Street fitting.

Believe that is the Mercury one, not the Ford fitting.

Note: Based on RalphG & 51MERC post, looks like the fitting changed around for different years!

Just for reference, here is what my 52 Merc has at the oil filter. I don't recall if it had a restrictor in there or not.

Yes, that is the 1BA-6073 fitting that is used on '52-'53 Mercury and on Fords.
The restrictor is in the fitting.
