I carry a halon so you can still eat your steak after if it catches fire. Leaves no residue whatsoever. Don't forget a first aid kit. I like to get burned a lot..something about tender skin and hot manifolds. They just go together.

keep two in the wood storage box I built for my CCPU That way easy to get to and you are already out of the vehicle so if it goes real bad at least you are not in it!

I think a fire extinguisher is a must . Along with spare parts and tools , I keep a tow strap handy in case someone breaks down and are still in the road . My fire extinguisher is on passenger side in front of seat .

YES!! It is a Kiddie fire extinguisher, #A38663463, and uses a dry chemical agent. It is designated for automotive fires both gasoline and electrical. It cost about $20. I mounted it on a side brace used for the cardboard side liner in my coupe's trunk. It comes with a mounting bracket. Would not be without one. Remember to replace it every few years as it has a shelf life.

I do now!! I had just put together a 29 Tudor and just drove about 100 yards from home when a fuel psi. regulator leaked and caught fire. I was lucky that my neighbor had an extinguisher , she ran down the hill to my car and got it out before it did too much damage. What a mess to clean up. Beware of the round fuel regulators made by Cal-Custom, I took them off my other cars and added fire extinguishers to all my A's , and the kitchen & garage. That's my 2 cents worth!

I just got an email today that warns about fuel pressure regulators leaking gas due to ethanol eating them up. I forwarded it to several friends. I don't use a pressure regulator on my Studebaker. I cut the pressure and flow to the correct amount by using a resistor to drop the voltage to the electric pump to 2.7 voltss. This costs much less, is safer, and has the added benefit of using less power.
