Default What coil /resistor to use on 12 volt conversion on an 8BA.

When converting from 6 to 12 volts, which 12 volt coil do you use? Which resistor? Can u use a 12 volt coil that has a built in resistor? Does anyone have part numbers?

I found that a 68 chevy pu coil and resister works well and the coil fits the holder.

pickup,
Bosch makes a 12volt coil...their # 00012....it is also available thru
some CARQUEST stores using CQ #wpcf3000424875b05
BUBBA put me on to this coil...no resistor needed...it has 3.3 ohms
built in. It is blue in color and commonly known as the 'super coil'.
Watch the polarity neg ground...... minus side of coil to the dist
pos ground......plus side of coil to the dist

Opps! I forgot it was a conversion. Posting deleted.

I used this coil and resistor for my 12V conversion using a distributor with points on an 8BA
