Default New Shoes !

Mounted a new set of American Classic radial white walls today. Really changed the look of the car, glad I went this route. I wasn’t able to put on many miles but the few that I did felt great.

Now to get the brakes sorted out !

I put the same radial whitewall tires on my 1930 Tudor earlier this year (about 6000 miles ago) and they make the car drive smoother, quieter and handle better. My next project is an upgrade to the brakes.

NICE! Wouldn't I like a set of radials for my car! I've heard different reports on how long they last. Do you get more miles out of them or is it just the better ride and handling.
I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of them once you get a few miles on them (or is it under them?)

Very nice! Tires are on my list for this spring. Let us know your thoughts after driving on them for a while.

Nice look! Did you paint or buy that way? Looks great with whitewalls.

Bob

Thank you all for the kind comments. She is our pride and joy ! I look forward to putting some miles on and I will certainly share my thoughts on how they ride. I need to put her on stands for a few weeks while I tear down the brakes and send them off to Randy Gross for a proper rebuild.

bob from red oak we bought her with that paint job. It isn’t flawless but shines and shows well. Overall a pretty solid body, although the deeper I dig, the more I find !

bdtutton you have a beautiful car as well. I think the white walls on a dark colored car are a game changer. We thought about repainting the wheels in apple green but with the white walls, we will leave them as is.

I am considering radial tires. What size of radial tire works on 19" wheels? I assume tubes are necessary too. What size are the tubes?

Hello Bob, here is a link to the radials I bought:

https://www.cokertire.com/tires/amer...19-700325.html

You will see at the bottom of the page is a link to the tubes as well. I didn’t find any radial alternatives to these tires elsewhere, except for the American Classic black walls, if that is your preference.
