Default 38/39 hood side badges....

Badges?...We don't need no stinking badges Well now I do, and one of my favorite parts of this truck.

The mounting bolt/nuts were rusted and not able to reuse. Those mounting screws are not available so the pictured brass #6-32x1/2" screw before and after a drop of solder.

Next painted with POR15 top coat and used small plastic washers to protect paint. Now to fit the grill shell/grill.

I have a reproduction pair that are blue and don't like them against the panel and black fenders. The pictured plain badge came with the truck and blends in well.

The panel and truck are Folkstone grey. Thanks to Fordbarn for helping getting it together.

That looks great! How about a pic or two of the truck. I love the color.

So does this mean you don't need the wing nuts anymore?

The blue paint had fallen off my badges too so I painted them the same red as the rest of the body as I wasn't doing a true restoration.

Bill I like that red on red, does not stick out oddly like blue would. Seeing that combo I just might have to give those badges some folkstone grey.

Thanks for taking the time to post that picture and great idea. Scott

They are normally tac'ed. But I guess as long as there is not a slot of a screwdriver, that is a good fix with a poly stop.

Less you care, they are filled blue. But what ever works for design. Just good to know the difference. For posterity.

That's what I was thinking. That big blue badge is just a little too much.

But with all due respect it looks like you had the truck painted without taking the badges off.

Not really because the raised portions of the badge are not painted.
