Will there be any model A’s left?
Every day I see adds: “parting out this model A” or “rolling chassis for sale, I’m keeping body”. Will there be any original cars left?

Re: Will there be any model A’s left?
Yes, the good ones will still be with us.
At some point even the best of antiques gets to the point that it’s time has come. USS Constitution is less than 10 percent original. Outside, used in the weather, poorly maintained, many different owners. That’s what will kill any antique. Enjoy. |

Re: Will there be any model A’s left?
They will still be around: Chopped and channeled on a 32 look-a- like frame, 32 replica FG radiator shroud, power steering, semi independent rear suspension, air conditioned, fuel injected V8, electronic ignition etc. ect. ect. Driven only to car shows and mall cruise-in’s.
Here in Tennessee they have the audacity to then put antique tags on them. |

That's my thinking too but I think as fossil fueled cars are taken off the road, it will take more than 10 years for it to disappear. The writing is on the wall though.

May not be any coupes or roadsters but sedans will live on as solar technology continues to improve. The flat roofs of the sedans will be adorned with solar panels. Some of those cars might even be equipped with popup wind sails for use on windy and cloudy days. Never underestimate the resourcefulness of the Model A folks.

Re: Will there be any model A’s left?
Sort of ironic.....
Those that are buying parts from those “parting out” are generally building one from parts! Out of the ashes comes another one!! |

Re: Will there be any model A’s left?
Will there be any left in 10 years, 100 years?
It can probably be estimated fairly close, and will most likely look like an exponential decay curve, with the lowest section of the curve being almost flat for a very long time. We know how many Model A's there were at the end of 1931. We would need a couple of data points from the past (i.e. 1940, 1950, 1960) when the number of registered Model A's were known. And we need to know how many are left right now, or somewhat recently in the past. Does anyone know how many are left today? .

Yep, but probably converted to a warp drive using dilithium crystals.

There will be gas and Model A Fords for all our lifetimes. Don’t let the pessimists push the panic button on you.

Re: Will there be any model A’s left?
Correction, "Canadian OIL sands" and yes, it does matter. Not to derail this thread but, funny thing about the oil sands. The eco terrorists have a coronary if a barrel or two of crude gets spilled yet they fight tooth and nail to prevent the oil companies from effectively cleaning up the worlds largest natural "oil spill" in the oil sands. Most don't know this but there are creeks and rivers that have had oil seeping into them for a millennia and the trees are scrubby and poor anywhere the oil sands are close to the surface. Where the sands have been mined and reclaimed the replanted trees are healthy and strong. Mining the oil sands is good for the local environment even if we DIDN'T have a use for the crude. Anyways, WAY off topic, sorry, just wanted to set the record straight.
