50 Mercury with removable door post???
I was going thru years of envelopes of saved automotive clippings today and found one ad that said, "50 Mercury with removable post, 1 of 57". Nothing more about it being a custom Merc so I wondered it was some factory special.
I'd forgotten the clipping and have never heard of a car like this since other than some customs. Anyone hear of something like this from the factory? |

No photos, just a 2"x2" add with only the statement that I posted. No idea of what periodical it was in.

Re: 50 Mercury with removable door post???
Posts get removed for customizing all the time (if they are refering to body pillars) but I am aware of no post that is removable on stock body cars of the 49 to 51 era. It may have been a try at making a hard top out of a B-pillar car.
