Re: Where to buy a hand crank
There is a wanted section on this site, you can find it. The suppliers such as Snyder's list one around $20.

They are a very common item at swap meets in the $10 dollar range.

The crank doubles as a lug wrench for the wheels.

Re: Where to buy a hand crank
The original crank has forged ears to go into crankshaft ratchet, when I first got my car and didn't have a crank I bought a reproduction and it just had a pin through a drilled hole, came apart after 2 uses, look for original one.

Agree, price is up a bit, believe we were paying 20 to 25 for them at Long Beach Swap.

Post an ad in your local Craigslist for one.

Re: Where to buy a hand crank
The '31 crank handle is different from the previous years but any will do. Sammy Guthrie at Arizona Model A will have one, I'm sure.
BTW, It helps us if you put your location on your profile. |

Re: Where to buy a hand crank
Read the judging standards to see what is correct for your car. Through Jun 28 the lug nuts were smaller. You should buy the correct one as it will probably be the same price. Swap meets or your local car club are good sources.

Re: Where to buy a hand crank
What are the 2 sizes of lug nuts? Where would I find judging standards. I’m just learning.

Re: Where to buy a hand crank
The lug nuts were 11/16 through June '28 and the 13/16 through the end of production. The judging standards were published jointly by the two National Clubs (Model A Restorers Club [MARC] and The Model A Ford Club of America [MAFCA, mafca.com]). The standards should be available on their web sites. Major vendors also sell them.
