I see that Snyder's list two, 1930 and 1931. I wonder if it's the location of the Ford emblem hole? Other wise I would think as both year shells would fit the same radiator, there should not be too much difference in how the guard would fit. ?

Yes, as Mark said, it is the emblem hole that is the difference between a 1930 and the 1931 shell. They will interchange physically but the emblem does not align.

I have a '31 with the stone guard which I removed because it was putting stress on the upper shell. The '30 may be different due to the 1 piece design.

Probably makes a difference if early 30 or late 30?

I do not know the answer, and was hoping someone would chime in. If you look at a catalogue like Brattons
https://www.brattons.com/catalogsear...?q=stone+guard
There are 3 selections
28/29 - I understand
31 - I understand
30 - only one is listed even though there is an early 30 design car, and a late 30 design car. Does the Guard fit Both early and late models?

I dunno. I raised this question a long time ago, did not get a clear answer.
