Just getting around to putting one of Bob Drake's repro tanks in my car. When I took the original out there were some strips of that looked like rug pad material, two on the upper side running transversely and two lining the metal holding straps.
The Drake tank came with two similar strips, (not four), and four rubber pieces about 6 inches long, molded with a slight angle. Where are these rubber pieces used? My first thought was to put them under the holding straps where they cross the center edges of the tank.
I had enough of the old fabric material to use as a pattern to cut four new pieces of rug pad to use as original. The two Drake strips are shorter and thinner than the original and I want to put it back as original.
