Great lookin' car. I don't now a lot about the pre-war cars, but this must be a DeLuxe because of the banjo wheel, right?

Based on the grill and front of the car it is a Standard. I don't know the history of this car. I did think the steering wheel looked like a top of the line version.

Tubman, in 38 the standard and deluxe had totally different body styles. I prefer the look of the standard myself, but many like the deluxe. To a large extent the look of the deluxe of one year looked similar to the standard of the next year. So a 38 dlx looks very similar to a 39 std and a 39 dlx looks similar to a 40 std. These are photos of a 38 std (the straight hood line and grill lines) and the 38 dlx with the drop down hood and more curved grill.

"JSeery" - I wouldn't say "body styles"; I would think "front sheet metal" would be more appropriate. I know the difference between Standards and DeLuxes, but I was wondering about this particular car because it is shown before completion.

Sorry Tubman, misread what you were saying! The bodies are different on the sedans, but you probably know that, LOL.

Yeah, I think that Ford got it bass-ackward back in '38 - The Standard is so much more attractive than the Deluxe IMO....
