Default 1939 Pickup gas pedal Finish???

What color/finish should the spoon accellerator pedal and the linkage be on a 1939 Ford pickup?

In 1940 it was cadmium plated. As it was the identical part in 1939, I'd hazard a guess, it too was cadmium plated.
