Original fan belt
What if any markings were on the model A fan belt? Printed, stamped?

Re: Original fan belt
Judging Standards Section 3 page 4 and 5 will answer that question.

Re: Original fan belt
Q: Where am I?
A: Sitting down, facing forward. Also a correct answer that has no value. I have the same question and I don't have a copy of the judging standards. I have a bright red industrial link belt so that must be the one and it fits and works fine. |

Re: Original fan belt
These would be the markings for the red one used in mid to late 1931.

What is considered a smokin' deal one one, $400.00 or less? Bob

Re: Original fan belt
I have a belt I found hung up in the rear seat springs of my Tudor. It is Ford script, and the number is,B-8620-AB.I've actually gotten three answers as to what it is,but I've never checked to see which one was correct. Those markings are molded in on the outside of the belt.

Re: Original fan belt
Here's a picture of an original fan belt taken off of a 1928 car that had only 18,000 miles on it in 1965. It has no markings whatsoever.

Re: Original fan belt
Maybe you need to buy a copy of the Judging Standards and spend more time reading it then trying to be a comedian.

Re: Original fan belt
I don't have $500 + to spend on a used fan belt so I spray the black ones with red rustoleum primer. They tend to darken some with time and miles but they look pretty good on my touring class cars.

In the same amount of time it took to look up the page, the question could have been answered. I prefer straight up answers. If asked the time, I would not explain how to build a clock. I'd answer with the time. Prior to one month ago I had never had a Model A. I am going to my first local meeting this Tuesday. Mine is to be a daily driver so I have no interest in judging standards. Why would I spend any time reading something of no interest to me? |

Why would I spend any time reading something of no interest to me? For the same reason you are reading a thread about markings on original fan belts. Many question can be answered by the restoration guidelines. And you wont be eating off others plate.... |
