found an A for sale
On my run to Maine today I found an A pick up for sale, I can not afford it , but I was happy to sit in it to see what it was like. I am 5'11'' and 240lbs. I learned that It was not quite big enough for me. there would not of been much room for a passenger.. oh well,I was happy to see it and now I know a pick up is too small. if your looking for an A 1930-1931 contact: Bill or Danny Myrand in Turner, ME. 207-333-8369 see attachment for photo.

Re: found an A for sale
I would love to have a pickup, I'm 6'2 and 250... I'm working on being lighter, but I'd have to saw off my legs! I had a chance to sit in a 29 and a 30 this summer, I could get in the 30, and could probably drive it, but the 29 would be impossible!

Re: found an A for sale
I'm 6'2" and 255 and I have a '31 pickup with a 4" recessed firewall (to accommodate a SBC) and, while it's tight, I can drive it OK. Took it on a 1500 mile hotrod tour this summer. I would not want to have to use a clutch though. My '31 DD will have the stock firewall and a standard trans and I found it not bad at all.

Re: found an A for sale
I think people use the term "survivor" a little to loosey goosey. And yes, 12k seems too high

Re: found an A for sale
I do love a Pickup but I agree the price seems a bit high. And I also agree the term survivor is mighty subjective, and in this case I don't think it applies.

Re: found an A for sale
Was gonna say ive seen people pay $4000 for a rot free cab before...
I wouldnt pay 12K for it though... depending on what he means by "maintained" - does that mean brakes rebuilt and up to snuff or is it going to mean the typical worn out rollers and backing plate guide with out of spec warped drums BUT with new shoes? If the body is as nice as he claims as with the frame Id say 7-9k is more in order

Re: found an A for sale
I agree with SeaSlugs on the price - 4K too low and 12K too high. In my opinion, 7 to 9k would be the going price range.

Re: found an A for sale
I would not sell a pickup like that, for $4,000 that's too cheap.
Depends on which side of the deal you are sitting on. |

Re: found an A for sale
itts not 12,000 but it is sure as heck not $4000. Where in the world do these prices come from? Both prices ( people ) need a reality check! Wayne

Re: found an A for sale
Appears to be late model 1931 steel top with wide bed. Radiator shell, headlights, and cowl band have been changed.

Re: found an A for sale
Not many of the red cab/black bed paint jobs have "survived" this long... should be in a museum. 8^)
The real reason the guy is asking 12K is he wants as much money for it as he can get! |
