Got an Email from my Antique car insurance about the Hurricane
Just got this in an email:
Dear Valued Customer, With the impending Hurricane Matthew approaching landfall, I encourage you to take immediate steps to prepare for the high winds and heavy rain that has been predicted to accompany this dangerous storm. Although the final path has yet to be determined, now is the time to prepare. If you feel your current storage location is not adequate to protect your car, we encourage you to seek an alternate location. One solution is an elevated parking garage where you can park your car in a central space. This will keep it safe from the rising waters and protect it from the wind and rain. Condon Skelly will provide up to $250 in expense reimbursement for costs you may incur to move and protect your car. I am in NJ and the Hurricane is not coming near us. Basically they would pay me more then what I pay in insurance to move my cars to a dry place. Not an issue for my anyway. If I get wet the cars will be the least of my worries!! |

Pretty impressed with an insurance company that is this proactive and willing to pay to reduce chance of damage. I know this may make sense for them and payment levels, but I like a company doing this, rather than telling us that if we DON'T move the car they will not cover it!

Agreed, sounds like the understand while yes you dont own the last Model A or Mustang or Nova or whatever its still your baby and at least offer ways to protect it and letting you know they will pay to have it protected. I for one would rather leave it in a parking garage than have it utterly destroyed or lost.

Hi Kevin,
Most sincere thanks for posting same .... wonderful reminder for all of us prior to any weather threat. Something tells me the guys who work for the Life Insurance Companies are never this intelligent to warn humans ...... |

Instead of complaining you should be commending them. I am truly impressed. Wayne

Appears whoever sent this wonderful message of warning should be admired and thanked.
Many already realized the damage salt on snow covered roads can cause to a Model A undercarriage ..................... can anyone imagine what one's prized Model A will look like a year or two after being totally submerged, (up to the top), in salt water, from either the salty Gulf of Mexico or the salty Atlantic ...... |

Re: Got an Email from my Antique car insurance about the Hurricane
mine doesn't cover ufo attacks ( does cover meteorites), missiles, or if we declare war and fighting on US soil and it gets destroyed or confiscated. Sometimes fun to read the policy!

I pray a good sized meteorite would smack my car. What are meteorites selling for? Something like $100 a gram!
