X 2 on the long bolts, when you work by yourself you need all the help you can ! Cut the heads off, grind a taper, cut a slot for a screwdriver for easy removal. Jet engine mechanics install protectors over the mounting bolts and then unscrew them.

Are the protectors on the Jet engine mounting bolts a tool used as guidance for assembly or just protection from damage?

It's so you don't scratch whatever thing you're sliding into position over the bolts.

If you have taps and dies, get some solid rod at your local hardware store or metal supplier and thread about 1/2" of one end, then slot the other end with a cutoff wheel or hacksaw blade. Handy for mounting that 60 lb flywheel as well.

I shortened my engine leveler, and made the frame spreader. I had some threaded rod that I cut and ground for the alignment dowels. Splines are marked for visual aid to align transmission shaft.

If all goes well, I will be reinstalling the engine this weekend. Thank you everyone who has helped me get to this point.

How long is the "shortened" engine leveler?

I'm so proud, I think this is the first time someone has reproduced something I designed.

FWIW I used this leveler and did not need to shorten it.

I use that same leveler, exactly. It just clears the firewall and wire box, so I pad them with a towel. But no need to shorten.

I can't wait to put it to use this weekend. Thank you for sharing your efforts.

In the first picture you have a fumaze. Hope you used it while the engine was being stored and not operated. Remove before starting the engine.

Rotating the wheel works but I find it much easier to just put the transmission in neutral.

Sorry Fumaze is a breather on the oil fill tube. Take of the air filter on the carb. The car will run better without it.
