Professor David Lewis was a very active writer who loved old Fords and their creators.
Living in Michigan, he got to know and was able to interview many Ford Employees including Henry Ford II.
Among the many books he authored on Fords and the Company, he wrote this book, "The Public Image of Henry Ford - An American Folk Hero and His Company".
I am privileged to have a personally autographed copy in my Library of Ford Books.

In my Post 1, I got it wrong. Because of the way Americans write their dates, I got confused.
David actually lived a week after his 96th Birthday.

With David Lewis and my dear friend Jim Langley a few years ago, I feel we have lost the best historians on Ford and the Ford Motor Company. I always enjoyed his books and his postings on Cars & Parts. Thank you Professor Lewis for the many history insihgts into Ford. May you rest in peace. My deepest sympathy to his family, his friends and all that knew him.
