YES, paint all the door openings first and any of the metal parts that come in contact with the headliner cloth like the headliner bows and grabber strips for the wind lace. If you don't, it's a bear to tape off and protect your brand new headliner from overspray and wind lace. So paint all the interior raw metal first. You don't want rust stains to appear on your headliner after a few years. Here's an example of a 40 Ford. I painted the entire interior including the floor first. I realize your 37 is different.

Thanks. This is a big help. I am ordering the 1/2" core Black cloth windlace. I measured just under 10' in the door opening, so I would need 20'.

Order extra just in case. You can always cut off the excess, but you can't add when it's too short. Make it 24" as it won't cost you that much more money, but it will save you a lot of grief in the event the 20' turns out to be too short.
