Default Weight of 60HP engine w/transmission

Can anyone give me the approximate weight of a 60HP engine and transmission combination? I do not have access to that info. I'm figuring close to 700lbs. How far off am I? Thanks. Lawson

Still too heavy to lift by yourself Lawason. You might hurt yourself.

I don't KNOW this to be a fact, but the 300 lbs. figure MAY be WITHOUT flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc and generator. GM had a habit of listing engine weights that way back in the '50s and '60s. Coop

I knew a guy who carried a "bare block" down to his basement by himself in the 60s. He was a big fella but not real muscular.

I along with a friend easily carried a stock V-8 sixty including the complete flywheel assembly from the top of a file cabinet where it was being stored into the back of a pickup and them out of the truck once I got home. Doubt we were lifting 300 pounds BUT I was a bit young at the time.
