I sure hope that cop doesn't have his foot on the running board!

Re: Fantastic picyure
With that light-colored top, it must be an early 1928 Roadster before Ford switched to a black top on open cars. I wonder why Ford changed top colors in 1928? Most likely the black top was cheaper than the tan one = more profit for FoMoCo per vehicle. "A penny saved here, a penny saved there - made Henry a multi-millionaire!"

It really does look like he's texting in that picture. The closer you look the more it looks like it.

Re: Fantastic picyure
Marshall, That's the second thing I've 'caught' you on this year.
Look closer, that is a Canadian Roadster from it's distinctive pinstripe. Those & the '30-31 Roadsters where pin striped differently than in the US. ?? jb |

Re: Fantastic picyure
I wonder if the roadster was stopped for speeding and how fast was he going?

Re: Fantastic picyure
Thanks for the corrections, Jim and "Model 'A' Fords". My strong suit has never been Canadian Model A's. I guess I should have looked at the posted picture with a magnifying glass to see those details and noticed something was amiss from my comfort zone.

Re: Fantastic picyure
It appears to be a Harley Davidson. Also rather than a foot on the running board. Cops are trained to stop with a three point stance. Left foot down, right on brake, hands free.

Re: Fantastic picyure
It looks to me like the officer is pulling up his GPS mph reading to show the proof that he was caught doing 65 miles an hour his model A!!!

Re: Fantastic picyure
After a little search, came up with this. Caption said Ontario Provincial Police with Harley Davidson 1939. Last edited by AzBob; 02-20-2024 at 11:00 AM. |

Re: Fantastic picyure
Hagerty says 1939 HD in good condition go for about $56,000. As new would be more. The roadster in as new condition would go for less, I think.

Re: Fantastic picyure
I think he's getting a ticket because he scared the horses while running through town blasting the horn and maybe making a backfire or two!

He ignored the PLEASE slow down, no passing, no excessive noise etc sign the cop was hiding behind.

Re: Fantastic picyure
At least the A has a better suspension than the Harley. Preparation H was from the thirties too. Hardtail Harley...they put the "H" in preparation H.
