Is it possible to lower a 30 a few inches by using a different kind of a drop spindle?

If so, who has them for sale?

Any drawback to doing this?

No, I was hoping not to have to go that route. I guess I was looking for a easy way out since I already had my spindles off.

Hard to drop an A a “few inches” without extensive work.

In my experience the easiest way to lower the front (or rear) of an A is to remove some leaves (leafs?) from the spring. I have talked to spring manufacturers about it and it’s common practice. You need to keep the longest and the shortest leaves but can remove others, removing every other leave is the normal way to do it. You can experiment to get the result you want. Benefit is that it is free, downside is that you need a spring spreader to do it.

Need to heat and bend this piece a little to get your "A" lower.

As many have done, you can use a Mustang 2 clip. You can set the ride height anywhere you want then.

Check with Speedway. They sell a 46" long 4" dropped axle that they say fits a Model A. This is a straight axle --- not spindles. At some point in the near future, I'm going to do the same.

Speedway sells some good parts, but I would question an axle. Stick with ford I beams, there are plenty out there, they are strong, and multiple choices of folks that drop them.

You might need to go with juice brakes . Buy a reverse-eye spring

I've been thinking of this for awhile and as far as i know there are no dropped spindles. You would have to do a reversed eye spring and take out a couple leaves or dropped axle. A 32 through 35 or 6 will give you the same as a 2 inch dropped axle. If you stay with mechanical brakes you can use 32 spring perches or build up originals. There are people who have done this on the H.A.M.B. Interesting reading.
