Default Jeff Beck passes.

Jeff Beck, a British musician has passed away at 78. What I always noted about him was his collection of 32 Fords. Though not stock they were some of the best examples of 32 Fords.

I think Roy Brizio's shop built several for him.

Sorry to hear this, but I think I'm a little older than most of you, so I never heard of this guy.

Getting back to Fords, isn't this statement an oxymoron?

I know he wanted to buy the American Graffiti "Piss yellow" 5w but the owner wouldn't sell it to him so he had Brizio build him a copy. Too bad of his passing, he is on my short list of best guitarists I like to listen to.

For those unfamiliar with Jeff Beck he is considered by many to be the most gifted guitarist of our time. His other passion, besides music, was Ford hot rods, in particular 32 Fords. He built several of his cars and enjoyed working on them. These pictures are from the Peterson Museum's celebration of the 75th anniversary concert/party. Beck played along with James Hetfield (Metallica), Billy Gibboms (ZZ top), and blues master Jimmie Vaughn. An amazing gathering of legends who were all into hot rods.

If you enjoy great blues/rock mix, find Jeff Beck Group's "TRUTH" album. On my all-time favorites list. British band, from about 1968. Vocals by a young unknown guy named Rod Stewart.

Kool Kat & Deuce Roadster

We were there at the 75th at the Petersen and Grand National Roadster show with our 32 as well. Met Jeff Beck as well as had a nice long conversation with Jimmy Vaughn. Both nice guys!!!

Kool Kat You might wanna change your statement to "one OF the best guitarist"....I'm sure Eric Clapton (who also has a 32 Vicky), Jimmy Page, Jimmy Hendrix and about 15 more I could list would take umbrage with your "emphatic" statement

One of my fav guitarists of all times . . . and somebody who collaborated with a lot of different artists of many different musical styles.

I loved his early work with Rod Stewart - especially the song I believe is titled "Morning Dew". If you appreciate Beck's great guitar style and the older work of Rod, you'll like this song.

Fantastic song - here is a link:

His song, "I'm Going Down" was a call to gather at a certain brown house on Illinois Ave. in Carbondale that six SIU students shared in 1972.

Denny.... You've obviously lead a sheltered life. What, you folks in Minnesota never heard "The Yardbirds" on the radio in the '60s, with Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton who were also eventual "Yardbirds" members?

Coop

Coop,
The Yardbirds must have had some serious issues since they couldn't keep 3 of the best guitarists of the era. A buddy of mine who does play, calls the Yardbirds the WORST rock group for that reason.

Wonder if Tubman knew of "Zimmie" Bob Zimmerman from Minnesota aka Bob Dylan.?
