More 32 identification help please
With the many parts included in the Vicky purchase were the following;
Theses latches were in boxes from UP labeled 5 window. The owner was building a 5 window at the same time. They look to be originals but once again I am no expert. I have been reading about the difference between the repro bumpers and originals, no washer in the knuckles. Were the front and rears the same ? This one appears to be straight requiring a rechrome but otherwise nice. |

Re: More 32 identification help please
My understanding is the 5W door latch/link/handle mount assembly differed from the Tudor/Victoria/B400 only in the length of the link.

‘32 bumpers have a slight radius between the bolt holes, hard to tell from the photos but if yours are flat they are reproductions. I agree with Karl’s assessment above, if you can provide a good measurement from center to center of the rivets on the linkage bar we may be able to positively ID them for you.

Re: More 32 identification help please
Without washers in the knuckles and given the overall curvature, the bumper is an original. The correct door latches for the tudor sedan (B-55) and Victoria (B-190) were B-46105-A and B-146106-A. The pin-to-pin length of the link was 16 5/16".

Re: More 32 identification help please
I've got UP latches in my tudor, just lengthened the link. I've used them in my current pickup and 5 window and they work great. I've also used the repro bumpers from UP and they are much better than the bumpers offered by others. Heavier and seemed to be shaped better, also more expensive.

Re: More 32 identification help please
Bumpers: The bumpers offered by most companies are just plain stamped steel while the bumpers from United Pacific are heavier spring steel and also come with end plugs reflecting the roughly $100 price difference.

The link hol-to-hole length for the '32 standard and sport coupes plus the Fordor front doors is 12 17/32".

Re: More 32 identification help please
Just looked at reproduction bumpers on the UP website So I guess there is some value in it after all.
