Talking '35 horns

A friend owns a '35 cabriolet with a set of chrome horns. I think they are repros as the originals have only the top chromed. And these look new.
They sound terrible.
1. Is there a fix to make these repros sound better.
2. Does someone make a better sounding set.
3. Does someone have an old set that could be used as a donor set for the guts?

Thanks,
David

David, the sound is adjustable -

I had a '36 half-ton that I bought, and it did not have a functioning horn. hmmm. Fer grins, I bought a '46/'47 (one piece dual long-tube trumpet horns online. Upon receiv'g them, I see that the 'insides' were/are exactly like the '36 horn! Did a switch and I had a '36 working horn! Your '35 horn is typical EFV8 horn til the late '40s. Have patience and check it out with those you trust.

I posted here not long ago regarding my horn restoration. Hopefully you can find it.
If not let me know. For instance . . .

The screen pattern is common and available in hardware stores. Use your old screen as a pattern.

Horn resto is a fun project. Keep in touch, if you want to chat about it.

ThirdGen has already posted on another thread that the repo horns are "awful".The deluxe horns had chromed projectors as well as the top covers.
