Default spring shackel question

Took the rear end out of my 46 today and the lower spring shackles are bady worn. This is the one the attaches to the rear end itself, the bushing in it is bady worn(oblong). Mac cat. shows a kit 21 A 5630A with rubber bushings on the spring side but steel on the lower side. Same as what I removed. I have an old nos kit with rubber bushings on both sides. But it will not fit the bushing in the lower side without removing the bushing. Question is. I am going to have to replace the bushings. Does anyone make these or do I have to turn some myself. Which is better steel or the type with rubber bushings. If I use the steel type is this a press fit and what Dia are they. Thanks in advance Dan

the shackel that is worn will have to be removed. It is a steel jacket on the outside with a rubber type material next and a steel pin in the center. The diameter of the hole in the housing is 0.75" and the outside diameter of the shackel is 0.753" the shackel is a press fit into the housing. best to remove the center pin then try to get the steel jacket out. this is not an easy job. then you can replace the shackel or use the rubber bushings
