Default Hubleu Toys Metal Model A Model

I visited a local estate sale recently and came across a Hubleu Toys Metal Model A Sedan.

Of course I could not pass it up so I purchased it and painted it to match my own 29 Tudor. How cool is that!

Cool - but you need another set of doors 😉 A while back I found a mini-me of my CCPU.

Yes on the doors, I wonder if I will ever find a mini me Tudor?

I like your CCPU.

This could be a candidate for a repaint.

My wife's Hubley. It was a racer and has lost a couple little things in crashes.

I think Hubleys were made in Lancaster PA. I have a whole collection of them in boxes in the basement. I know I had a woody, a vicky, and a phaeton. I am thinking there was either a tudor or a fordor as well. Along with a couple more of other brands. They were fun to build. There was a good bit of metal flash that had to be filed off, a lot of the bigger parts were screwed together. As a kid, compared to a plastic model it was like building a real car. I built plastic models by the dozens, the Hubleys were always a special present, Christmas and Birthdays.

I had the Victoria and phaeton, also remember filing the casting. Found out the cowl is where the gas tank was asked my dad if I should file that “knob” off too .Still see them around rarely at flea market and estate sales

At the Wisconsin Model A Reunion, we have races with the Model A Hubley cars.

I found a Franklin Mint model of my truck on eBay a couple years ago. It's also Rubelite Red.

20 plus years ago, My daughter and I built a Hubbly Victoria Model. She wanted to duplicate my Victoria. I think that she did a very good job, including pinstriping.
