28/29 versus 30/31
Looked at a coupe today that was listed as a 29. But when I looked it had the smooth cowls of the 30/31. This is what I think I know.
Cowls are different Seats are different 30/31 have a round handle in front to adjust Are there any major differences or minor That I might look for ?? |

Re: 28/29 versus 30/31
bumpers is the first tip off- then tire size.
I always leaned toward 28-29 cars, because they look more like a T. As of late, I am enjoying the looks of the 30-31s better and they also tend to have better resale in certain body styles. hot rodders generally migrate towards 30-31. my opinion. |

By the way, I notice that on club events, most of the cars participating are 1930 & 31 A's even though the highest number built per year occurred in 1929. Okay, I've thrown the gauntlet, so blast away!

Re: 28/29 versus 30/31
Gas and radiator caps are the easiest way to tell.
28-29 both are threaded on the OD of the neck 30-31 both are twist and lock style caps. |

Re: 28/29 versus 30/31
The cost cutting in 1930 along with the higher use of stamped steel parts as opposed to forgings used on the car through '29 makes the 28/29 superior in my opinion. The coupe pillar? its a matter of taste, but I prefer it over the smoother line.
