Re: AV8 Question
That's a good idea. I do like the shape of the model A wishbone aft fitting though. It has a bit of drop to it that the later ones don't have. Modifying a wishbone allows for adjustment of caster in the process if need be.
I think the split wishbones and even the 4-bar set ups always add some rigidity toward fluid cornering roll motions or when one wheel goes over a bump and the other doesn't. The roll motion can put a bind on the split bones depending on how far the roll motion progresses. Ford Motor Co knew what they were doing when they designed those buggy type suspensions. It allows for good roll characteristics. The heavier the cars got though, the more roll control became important so Ford finally put a stabilizer bar on in the early 40s. |

Re: AV8 Question
I concur with John in IL mock everything up and check and recheck. Too many factors that come to play like water pumps and transmission mounts and steering boxes. If you were closer I would lend you my polyblock it helps a bit but with a engine cradle you can do it ... This is my model a 1929 roadster with a 59 and 39 trans. I am running a model a rearend and so I didn't cut the driveshaft or modify anything past the original crossmember.
