Rumble seat lid
There are 2 holes on each side, top side edge. What are they for?

Re: Rumble seat lid
They are holes for the hinge pins for a trunk.

Re: Rumble seat lid
What is involved with swapping it to a trunk? I have a rumble car and curious what it would entail if I wanted to convert to a trunk.

Re: Rumble seat lid
A quick nutshell of converting to a trunk....
Relocate the handle to the bottom. Need trunk latch. Change curved inner panel for trunk panel. Put hinge stuff at the top. |

Re: Rumble seat lid
I have a 29 Roadster convertible that has two holes on each side of the rumble seat lid. It is for two chrome bars, one on each side of the lid, as a resting place to support the top from hitting the car when it is down.

Re: Rumble seat lid
Top rests bars go in the holes above the lid. I have a set of aftermarket top rest I would like to sell - cheap. The link to them is below.

Re: Rumble seat lid
On each side of the rumble seat lid you have 2 holes on each side for the rumble seat bars, which are used to tie the top down and support the top. Above the rumble seat lid you 2 holes on each side for the rubber bumbers for when the top is put down. I would have to remeasure mine, but I believe those rubber bumpers support the window when the top is put down.
