1936 Pickup Windshield Frame Question
The windshield frame of the pickup I am working on is missing a few pieces. The farmer that owned it for a while dealt with rust by screwing the frame directly to the body. I am working to restore the ability to open the windshield.
The frame is missing the brackets that connects it to the hinges. I looked on line and no one sells them. They look easy to make but I have nothing to reference. Does anyone have ones to sell or can make a sketch of them? I have attached a picture of another frame with the brackets I found online. I am also missing the piece that connects the frame to the opener. I should be able to make something to work but any information is appreciated. Thanks |

Re: 1936 Pickup Windshield Frame Question
You ARE in somewhat of a pickle aren't you? I MAY have an extra set of brackets. I know I have some brackets for the passenger car w/s frame, but they are different from the pickup. Let me check. I'm 90 and it is colder than a witches tittie in my shop about now. Give me a day or two and I'll try and get back to you. I do have an extra PU windshield frame that is solid except for one spot that needs repair, Send me a direct email to [email protected] and I'll send you a picture of what I have. Lawson.

Re: 1936 Pickup Windshield Frame Question
Here's a sketch that I made of my brackets when restoring my 35 panel delivery. I didn't make a profile drawing, but have included som detail from a frame drawing. Hope this helps a bit.

Re: 1936 Pickup Windshield Frame Question
I have the hinges out of my truck and on the bench. If you need images of the hinges and how they are oriented, just let me know.
Glad you found a source for the brackets. Dave |
