Default Best low pressure 1.5 psi electric fuel pump?

Hey fellas, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good electric low pressure 1.5 psi fuel pump. I have a 5 psi pump now with a Holley fuel pressure regulator but something stopped working correctly. I’m running really rush now and the motor is starting to stumble after running good.

Thanks,
George

I have heard that one can run a 12 volt pump on 6 volts and get roughly half the pressure that would be available on 12 volts? Any truth to this?

George,

I have been through many electric fuel pumps over the years, some better than others. The pumps I like the best are “Auto Pulse FRB” pulse type fuel pumps. You will need a pressure reducer with them as they are 4 - 6 PSI. They are a bit pricey but after being stuck on the side of road more than once, it’s been worth the price. I run these pumps on all my cars and have been very pleased with there performance.

Probably will need a regulator to maintain the 1.5 psi.

6 or 12 Volt ? NAPA offers a couple that show specs as being 1.5 - 4 psi and 12 volt. Part numbers # 610-1052 and # 610-1051 by Balkamp. I have had good luck with those. If you want consistent 1.5 psi you will need a regulator.

One other question, how hard is it to just go back to the manual fuel pump?

I use a K&N from Speedway (PN 465-810401). It is 12 volt and puts out exactly 1.5 psi without a regulator.

Depends if the pump rod is already installed and if the internal baffles are still there.

Awesome! Can you adjust the pressure? It says “Pumps 25 gallons per hour between 1.5 and 4 psi” but doesn’t say if it’s adjustable.

I think it’s all been removed. I’ll stay electric.

It really depends on whether the pump rod bushing has been changed or turned to block the oil outlet.
