Default Question for Bubba

Actually two. First, Are coils manufactured to be ran on either a negative system or a positive ground system? Or are they manufactured for just a specific ground?
Second, this Mallory has good bearings, but other than that I have no idea. A guy in one of our clubs is interested in buying it. What would be a fair price to ask? Thanks

Not Bubba But on can coils you just match the polarity on the coil terminals. I don't have any idea on the original distributer mounted coils.

Yes the secondary side of the wiring may be on either side depending on positive or neg ground systems. ( has some effect on output)

May run either way, however once a coil has been ran in one polarity the center coil steel laminates have a set magnetic field in them. If reversed the coil looses approx 75-80 of its output..

That Mallorys worth is depending on how the insides look they are getting harder and harder to find....

Since the points go to ground, whatever ground the car has is the side of the coil that goes to the distributor. That is how I remember.
