Default Cam markings

Just tore into the 42 Mercury motor (29A") on the 47 I'm working on for a fellow and was curious about the camshaft markings. It has an "A" on one side of the slot and what looks like a 5-D that was stamped over a 66 on the other side. Is this a stock cam that was possibly reground, and if so by who? Or is it whom?
I can never remember.
