Default Front galley plug

On 59A the rear has just a regular plug while the front is longer and stepped. Could someone explain the purpose of this style. Thanks.

Thanks 51 Merc, I read the post you directed me to but the only think I do know is that that plug does not go in far enough to effect the pressure relief valve
