Our Local Former Ford Branch Sold
Built here in Columbus Ohio in the late 'teens, sold by the Company in the late '30s, and a Kroger bakery in recent generations, now sold for "redevelopment", which might mean demolition. In any event I am sure it will become another millennial redoubt.
The story goes that Mr. Ford was frustrated in his inability to expand this plant in its heyday and wanted to relocate in Western Ohio where his D T & I railroad ran...he hated dealing with the traditional railroad companies, you know. |

Re: Our Local Former Ford Branch Sold
The old Ford dealer building in Lexington VA changed hands several times and one day I was walking by and there was an old metal box that was no longer used bolted to the outside wall, not sure what it had been used for maybe an air hose. But I looked inside and they had used 2 new bumper brace backs as braces, the stamped steel kind. So I asked the owner if I could get them and he didn't care so I guess I got NOS ones for my car back in the 70s. Not a valuable thing but they would have been thrown away when the building got renovated.
