Default Lower distributor shaft removal

Can not get lower distributor shaft out...took valve cover off,and tried with needle nosed pliers, but no go. Rotates when I crank engine, so doesn't seem frozen any suggestions??

I have used a long big screw driver. The screw driver head has to be big enough to fit snugly in slot on lower distributor shaft. Came right up. Maybe a little Marvel Mystery Oil down there to help free up. Good luck.
