What Year Are These Backing Plates
Trying to figure out what year these backing plates are. They were cobbled onto Model A spindles with spacers and had 60's era brake drums. A friend said he thought they were 64 65 Falcon/Mustang. Can anyone ID them for sure? Thanks Rod

Re: What Year Are These Backing Plates
They look like they could be about 1946 - 1948.

Re: What Year Are These Backing Plates
Look like early '50s Studebaker. Only brakes I have ever seen with that oddball "self adjuster" arrangement on the leading shoe.

Re: What Year Are These Backing Plates
They are definitely not early (Lockheed) or late (Bendix) Ford, but why even mess with an inefficient non-servo cobbled up unknown brake?

Re: What Year Are These Backing Plates
Just trying to figure out what they are so I can sell them. I have no intention in using them. I took them off of the A spindles yesterday while salvaging and sorting parts as I thin out my parts pile. Along with a 5 stud drum on one side and a 4 bolt drum with left handed threads on the other side. Rod

Re: What Year Are These Backing Plates
Rich b, Thanks for the Studebaker suggestion. Looks like they should bring about $40 each. Much better than the scrap iron suggestion at $35 per ton. That will go a little way in paying off med bills. It all adds up. Rod
