Default Pistons for a steel sleeve engine

I recall reading that 39-40 99A steel sleeve engines came with steel pistons. When I took mine apart it had aluminum pistons, I know it had been apart some time in the past as the crank was .040 under and the cam journals .010 under. My plan is to use A set of 8BA pistons that I already have. The engine will go into my 35 sedan which will be a local cruise night car with some occasional weekend drives in the country. Will the aluminum pistons be a problem-?

If your engine is a steel sleeved 221 3-1/16 bore you will need to remove the sleeves and bore the cylinders to accept the 8 b a 239 pistons, so the pistons will be against the cast iron cylinder walls.

The aluminum pistons will give no trouble provided clearances are correct

I am using a 42-48 59A crank and 29 A rods, the crank is .010 under and I have a NOS set of rod bearings to use up my parts stock just need the mains. I have a 8BA crank and rods that I am saving for a 59A block which will be a future build. I will run the 99A motor so I can drive the car until I finish the 59A engine.
