horn button on 36
My V8 insignia is upside down. Can I loosen the retainer and just turn it 180 degrees or is more involved? The lights work fine, but when i turn the switch one left, the brites come on first. Turning more to the left, the lowbeams then come on. Is this the correct sequence? Maybe i should just leave well enough alone. The parking light comes on when I turn switch to the right. Terry

Re: horn button on 36
You could remove the switch at the bottom, remove the clip, and turn the rod 180*. It sounds like the wires at the headlights need to be reversed.

It sounds like you may have a combination of wires connected incorrectly on the phenolic switch contact plate, in the sheetmetal bulb/ball below the steering gear box, and the lower square formed end of the horn button/light switch rod incorrectly assembled with the formed sheetmetal pickle fork. Or maybe that assembly is just positioned 180° out with respect to the movable triangular switch contact assembly. Hopefully this all makes some sense . I believe there were some illustrated pictures of these light switch components posted in the past on another thread. Maybe a search might turn these up.
