Default 1940 Coupe Survivor
I had posted this overly the HAMB - thought some of you Guys would like to see an original car. It's a genuine 34K mile survivor that's all original:

I tried to copy some some of the photos - but the Ford Barn tools are not as user friendly :

WHEW!!! I love taking a day trip! Here it is not yet 6AM and I've still got the rest of the day. As someone on Hamb mentioned this is what dreams are made of, somebody pinch me!

The fact it was posted on the HAMB is a bit concerning. I hope it doesn't grow a sbc.

Perhaps less purist but there's plenty of Flathead lovers on the HAMB as well.

The flathead is staying - and the car will be preserved. I may put on a dual exhaust system to replace the stock single muffler - and then lower the front, but all stock parts will be retained.

I already have a SBC powered hot rod, and I am in the process of building a flathead for that car, too.

Found the original title, bill of sale etc in the trunk. Also found some old photos and the car has the same plates. I've been attempting to trace the owners with some success.

The woman who bought the car was born in 1876 - the story provided to me is that she bought it for her son, who was killed in 1943. She didn't drive and the car was stored until 1963. She had remarried and I am not sure of the last name of her son, I am trying to track it down to see if the story pans out.

The car was sold on May 4, 1940. I found the jack wrapped in a Houston paper from May5th. The jack and tools are in Ford burlap bags:

There are no more words to add to those that have been already said about the car, the find, the history, and the uniqueness of this car. Truly a jewel that needs to be treasured, enjoyed, and driven for all to enjoy as well.
