Default 1940 gas line

Refurbished gas tank and new gas line. I've tightened the brass nut on gas line as tight as I can, still getting a little seepage, ruined paint. I'm sick about it. Everything installed. Any suggestions.

Thanks

Sounds like a bad ferrule on the end of the tube. Some of the ferrules were made of hard brass and are very hard to compress. You could heat the ferrules with a long soft flame and quinch in cold water. This anneals them. G.M.

It's the brass nut going into the gas tank. Wondering if there's sealer you know of. Thanks.

If the tank connection is the same as the carb connection,ei: a Ford nut and ferrel then its not the threads leaking but the ferrel is not compressed enough. Will the nut thread in any further or are the wrench flats up against the tank and wont go in any more. In that case you need a nut with a longer section threaded section on the nut. I have them with about another thread longer on them compared to the older ones. Clear as mud right. Call if you want more info . cell. 1-203-360-5945. ken ct.

It sounds like you don't have a ferrule on the line and then the correct Ford nut.
