Default Light switch issues

Hello, my 31 slantwindow light switch guts fell apart so I bought a new light switch body and tried to install it, I can get the two halves together and the bail secured but the switch at the steering wheel won’t hardly move, I am using the original half that holds the wire attached disc, I guess I should have searched for an original good used part as this has me in a tizzy, any help would be appreciated, thank you

When this happened to me, the fix was to adjust the light switch spider retainer clip, which had been wedged in slightly too low. This moved the spider farther up the horn rod, which put less pressure on the switch body and allowed the switch at the steering wheel to rotate properly.

Well guess what, a buddy brought over a couple of switch body’s that he said I could have cause they are cheap junk, I tried the first one I picked up and it worked!, I still am going to get a couple of good used ones !

Over twice the price of the foreign made one but it will probably save you a headache if you can't source a good used original. I have heard that the cheaper light switch body has fitment issues from various people.
