'36 ignition switch
it is getting harder to turn the key. I now keep it in the position that allows the lever to go from on to off. Is a worn key the problem or are the insides of the switch going bad? I have to shake the key back and forth while I try to turn it. Terry

Terry , try a few shots of Silicone Spray in the key slot then try the key again I found this helped in my case ,,

Re: '36 ignition switch
The cam on the back of the lock cyl could be worn or remove the entire switch from the column drop casting and see if its any better. If it is then lube the base of bakelite brush in the switch housing.Disconnect the power source before messing with the switch.
