Default Borg Warner Overdrive Parts Needed

I have a borg warner overdrive that was set up on my truck many years ago by Lloyd Young who unfortunately is no longer with us. Anyway I need a new planetary gear among other things to get my overdrive going again. Is there anyone out there who might still have some parts for this thing or could maybe send me in the right direction? All I know is that it's a R10 unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As I recall there are two differnt planetary packs for the Warner OD's, big for the lite trucks and small for passenger cars. I took one out of a 55 chevy OD and put it in a 49 merc OD. All the guts in theWarner OD's interchange other then the shafts. So, if you widen your search to any warner electric OD for a pasenger vehicle of the 40's -60's you should get the right pack. I have found that most of the gm tri five guys hate these transmision and toss or sell them dirt cheap. One last thought, for some reason Mopars go for outrages prices so probably not the place to look. Tim

What all Do you need. I just happen to be going out to my brothers in Or. where I left all of my old OD parts before moving back here. If you get me a list I'll see what I can do. Tim

I'm pretty sure the R10 internals are the same. If van pelt doesn't have what you need you're probably going to have to salvage parts from a good R10, but application shouldn't matter so there should be some out there. I think the Lloyd used a Studebaker R10, I have one in my '40.

Fred's outfit is Southside Obsolete. The R10s do vary depending on the auto manufacturers that used them. Some parts interchange and some don't. If this is a torque tube conversion, it could have been from a Nash or a Studebaker. Ford used them on the 259 series transmissions and the T86. The T85s were mostly R11 overdrive with the four planet gears instead of three.

I can't find a picture, but Lloyd Young adapted the overdrive unit into the torque tube near the rear end.

Mr Young must have built quite a few of those units, they show up from time to time.
Sorta like the Mitchel OD, maybe a little heavier, and different ratios
