Default V8 exhaust cross over ports

Hi All,
I'm curious about those exhaust cross over ports in the intake maniforld.
What would happen if i blanked them off?
Would the engine run hotter?
Would it effect the fuel mixture?
What if I simply blanked off only one port?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Regards Kevin

People have been plugging them off for decades. Engine won't run hotter, intake will run slightly cooler which is good unless you are in an extremely cold climate. Block both sides if you are going to do it.
