Default Books about Ford

A friend has an original copy of "Ford Model 'A' Car and "AA" Truck" by Victor Page printed in 1931. This book appears to be the book that was reprinted starting in 1961 and retitled "Model A Ford: Construction, Operation, Repair for the Restorer" in a blue binding. The original 1931 book has a red binding.

He wants to know what an original book is worth. Anyone have any ideas? I tried to find by Googling but only came up with the later reprint (that has shockingly high prices on Amazon.com).

Thanks in advance.

I've never paid over $20 for my copies. Some advertise at $50-65 with mixed results.

If the book pictured is the one in question, I'd be hard pressed to pay no more than $10-15 based on condition.

I agree with Luke. Book collectors want mint bindings. I saw a very nice red one a couple years ago in an antique shop, but passed on it for $25. I probably should have bought it though, but when I went back it was gone.

I have the book with the red binder. It is titled "Ford model "A" car PAGE'. Henley is the publisher and it is copyrighted in 1929.It also has a poster of the engine with
trobleshooting tips called "location of the new Ford Model A power plant troubles
made easy".So it appears there was an earlier version.Lots of good information. My
Mom was a avid yard sale goer and Westmoreland milk glass collecter and I think
she bought it for me.She was tough so I'm guessing in the $5 range but that was many years ago!

That is an original edition & I would jump at it, but I live in New Zealand where something like that is not common. My early '60's blue cover Clymer edition is just about stuffed now & they are not cheap to replace.
Put a reasonable price on it & it will sell.
