Default 1940 ford pickup frame question

Hey fellas

I bought a 1940 1/2 ton pickup in a snowstorm in missouri weds. Got her home (phew. What was i thinking ~ ice..snow...trailer...truck on trailer)

And began checking top left framerail for stamped vin by steering box. No luck

Does anyone have a picture of a stock 1940 frame so i can identify whats she sitting on.

I tried a google search and posted the above in the 1940~41 truck owners group on here.

Respectfully submitted

The vin number is usually somewhere along the frame rail in front of the firewall on the driver's side. I have found them from along where the front crossmember attaches to the framerail on back toward the firewall.
There is somewhat of an art to finding them. Unfortunately, I do NOT know the secret! I'd start by wire brushing the top of the framerail where it crosses the front crossmember. Some sandpaper might come in handy and you really need one of those LED flashlights--the little small ones work well in that they are more easily maneuvered into a number of angles to view the framerail.

Good luck,
Al

You asked for pics of the frame, here are a couple of a bare '40 to give you an overall view. Also attached is the original stamped serial number. On this frame it was located up by the front cross member.

My 41 pu has the numbers just like the one shown above, right by the front crossmember rivets.
