Default Generator Armature - Long Taper

Does anyone know if there are NEW generator armatures available with the long (7/8") taper? For some reason, the big parts suppliers only sell the short (1/2") taper, which was only used after March (May?) 1930 per the Judging Standards. I'd like to make mine correct for my June '29.

A; maybe someone has a good armature, put an ad in the classifieds
B; get yours re wound
C; to be fully correct you also need the correct cover band. ( I know there are differences for the years/months but can not tell you what they are)

Thank you for the replies. Looks like, as I suspected, new long-taper armatures are not available.

Would it be possible to take a short taper and recut it to a long taper?

The long taper was used until March 1930, and it used a ball bearing on the rear. The short taper was used on March 1930 to the end of production, and it used a bushing on the rear, which meant a difference in the rear of the shaft.

There were a few generators with the long taper and rear bushing during the change over period of March 1930. I'll see if I can find my picture of the 3 different armatures.

I should point out that PV Antique & Classic Ford, which I found through another Fordbarn post, is just now having new long-taper generator armatures manufactured. They will not be available soon enough for my project, so I'm going with a rewound original armature.

Here's that picture of the 3 different armatures for the long generator.

Notice the top short taper uses a larger thread on the pulley bolt.
