Default New truck arrived at the shop today

I have a customer/friend who asked me to find him a ‘49 F-1 and I spotted this on marketplace and the two made a deal. It arrived here today for a mechanical restoration and I am quite amazed at the condition, how complete it is. Even the tool box is laying in the bed. All 4 wheels have the original blue under the hubcaps. Truly a time capsule. Odometer shows 68k.

That is a great looking 74 year old truck. I expect to see that roaming the apple orchards around Sutton's Bay the next time I am up there. I see it even has the bungee cord steering option. That is a really solid looking truck.

It is the most complete truck I have ever seen. I
You will definitely see this truck in Suttons Bay when we are done. May be a cherry orchard or an apple……

She's a gol-dang beauty she is! Wow even the cardboard headliner and glovebox are in excellent shape. Any mercurechrome left in the bottle? I still remember that glass rod attached to the cap. And the pain. Please post up regular pics and keep us informed of your progress. It will be fun to watch!

It is a V8. Funny my friend wanted this truck for that very reason, so he could drive it and not worry.

Very nice. Some times the owners aged faster than the trucks. It would have an interesting story.

It was purchased in Alabama and we were told it spent a long time in a barn.

I too noticed the Ford tractor next to it. I have a 1949 8N. Like the truck too!

It does not have the 3spd. I was hoping it would as I like that trans better but it is not my truck. I did inform him that if he doesn’t like the crash box then I can swap it to the light duty 3 spd.

Thank you! It was willed to me by my father in laws best friend this Spring. He passed away rather suddenly and I always showed an interest in it. It currently is not running but it is on the list.

Neat pickup I love that series of Ford trucks! Nice find!

Our '98 F-150 has a sticker on the back window from Ford, '50 Years of F Series Trucks' , and has a frontal shot of a '48 next to a '98.

The '98 is a lot bigger!
